Evan Tan

Hi, I'm Evan

As a founder, self-taught coder and product leader, I've worked with numerous companies and startups, making a difference through building great products and applying technology to solve meaningful problems. I enjoy finding ways to use software and data to take action and operationalise visions into reality, to do meaningful work and build purposeful careers.

I'm a graduate of INSEAD (MBA class of 21D) and co-founder of Wellsprout, a 100% natural plant-based supergreens powder formulated to help struggling professionals to care for their gut health and energy. I previously built a social network for collecting and sharing new ideas. Prior to this, I worked as a Technical Program Manager at Grab, a super-app unicorn in Southeast Asia, and was also Chief of Staff at Holistics Software, a data analytics software-as-a service startup ranked top 3 globally by Gartner's FrontRunners in 2020. I was a key member of the core team, driving market engagements and outcomes for customers. You can watch some of my product videos here!

Before joining the tech industry, I worked as a Research Associate at one of the world's leading economic policy think-tanks in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, applying quantitative methods to study Asian economies. I graduated with my master’s degree from Melbourne Business School, where I was actively involved with the CAINZ commerce student organisation as President, and worked closely with the Faculty of Business and Economics Careers Centre and industry partners to develop programs for students.

My work and views have been covered on The Business Times (Singapore), The Straits Times (Singapore), MONEY FM 89.3 (Singapore), e27 (Singapore), CafeF (Vietnam) and Times of India (India). I have also been featured by companies such as Enterprise Singapore, Asana and With Content.

I taught myself how to code using Javascript, HTML, CSS, Python, R and SQL. I coded this site on Ruby using Middleman Blog and GitHub Pages.
